Are you a gay square dancer? Do you like to square dance naked?

If so, then this is a great year to do it! If you don't know how to square dance, then take lessons. The International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs (IAGSDC) has a website listing gay square dance clubs around the world. If you learn the calls up through the "Mainstream" level, then you'll be able to dance and have fun at any of the events listed on this page.

• The two events of most interest to gay men are the Peel-Off in Palm Springs and the Peel-Off in the Redwoods: all-gay, all-male, all-nude square dance weekends held at clothing-optional resorts. Each attracts between 50 and 100 guys.
• Moon Over Maryland and Moon Over Malibu are held in conjunction with other gay naked gatherings involving non-squaredancers. A square-dance caller is hired for one of the gathering weekends, and square dance sessions (and introductory lessons) are available frequently on those days.
• The IAGSDC Convention is a world-wide gathering of over a thousand square-dance enthusiasts. Each Convention within recent memory has scheduled an all-nude coed square dance (called a Moonshine Tip) for about an hour one night during the Convention period. This is a sight to behold, as between 200 and 250 men and women strip naked (usually in a hotel ballroom!) and bounce around in a wonderful celebration of the freedom to be gay and the freedom to accept your body.

Note that there are often Moonshine Tips held at other local conventions (called fly-ins) around the country -- Long Beach, Phoenix, San Francisco, and so on. Since those attract fewer dancers (usually between 8 and 35), they are not listed here -- but the IAGSDC maintains a calendar of fly-ins and other events. Contacting the organizers of a fly-in is the most reliable way to discover whether a Moonshine Tip is scheduled during the weekend.
